ArseWeb guide to Mobile Phone services
ArseWAP
ArseWeb's WAP site. Currently contains the most recent 15 (or so)
newsreel stories, automatically updated from the newsreel database.
Plus links and more to come.
Enter http://wap.arseweb.org/ into your WAP device. Note that this link won't
work in most web browsers - they're WML pages rather than HTML.
One browser which does display them is Opera, which is one of the browsers which
I'd recommend anyway, along with Firefox (both being faster and better-featured, than Internet Exploiter).
If you don't have a WAP device or Opera, but want to see our WAP site,
try the online WAP emulator at Gelon (currently out of operation 16/01/06).
Alternatively you can download a wap browser for your computer such as
Wapaka or WinWap.
Other WAP services
There is now an official Arsenal WAP site at http://wap.arsenal.com/.
It features news, fixtures/results, ticket info, player profiles/stats,
and contact details. Unfortunately, it seems that you can only get it through 3G phones.
There are other useful WAP services, the BBC in particular have comprehensive coverage with news, tables, fixtures, results, etc. These pages are all linked to from the ArseWap links page.
Videos
See Video clips page for suggestions and conversion s/w.
Text (SMS) services
A variety of packages are available from Arsenal (in association with O2).
Click on the "O2" button at the top of
the column of buttons on the right for details and online sign-up.
Warning! From here on down, much of this info and links will be a bit out of date.
Technology marches on. This kind of stuff is much easier to find than
it used to be, anyway. If you do have any info/links that would be
useful to other Gooners please do send it in.
