- On Saturday 13th September 1997
Wright scored a hat-trick against Bolton at Highbury, the first goal of
which put Wright equal with Cliff Bastin at the top of the all-time
Arsenal goal-scorers list on 178. Ian is Arsenal's leading
goal-scorer of all time.

talking to Ian Wright about his challenges. But I tell you what: when has he ever seen Ian Wright jump into the crowd and kick
somebody? And believe me, I've had much more reason to do that than Eric Cantona. There's absolutely no way Cantona gets
more stick than me. But that's typical United - they reckon the world is against them. Ian Wright, 1997"
