ArseWEB - video clips

These are very expensive in terms of disk usage and download time, so it's hard for us to find room to create a substantial archive. Plus we don't have the technology required to create them at ArseWeb so have been reliant on others to provide the ones listed below. And then there's the fact that it'd be copyright theft, which is a bad thing which we try to avoid as much as possible.

And then there's the fact that other sites do provide them, so why not just use them? There are plenty of clips of Arsenal goals out there in various formats, and you can often find recent ones within days of the match.

  • I suggest a google search for "Arsenal video clips" or similar.
  • You can find quite a lot of good stuff via the forums at http://www.footballclips.net/
  • http://www.soccerclips.net/ looks useful too.
  • If you know of other good sites for the list, please let us know
  • If having trouble with formats, I suggest the free AVS video converter which I have used, for example, to convert various formats to one which works on my phone ('3GPP optimal' works best for my phone).
  • We have a few old clips available for download

ArseWeb movie archive

The first three classic Arsenal goals are available as QuickTime and MPEG movies, the rest only as MPEGs. See above for conversion s/w.

These are old clips and technology has moved on somewhat - you'll probably find better quality elsewhere!

To show these movies, any program which will run MPEG movies will do, including the standard media player which comes with windows, or eg xanim for unix/linux.

Many thanks to Les Shen for providing these movies, and to Glynn Robinson for converting the first three to mpeg format.
