21/09/00 What a day to be a Gooner

After Martin's heroics last night, I had to wear red and white for work. All day long people have phoned, bumped into me in corridors and asked what I thought of the game, how good it was and how does Kanu do what he does.

Well I was there last night and from an Arsenal fans point of view the game was frustrating, yes great we used our 'Get out of jail' card again. We must have bought a dodgy Monopoly set full of them. But boys please tighten up at the back and save our hearts and blood pressure. We know how good you are and that you can play some great football especially Kanu with his tricks but 30 odd thousand people just wanted the ball in the back of the net. As I said at the time it could even have come off Keown's arse (and it nearly did!) for all I cared.

For a neutral it was a great game allegedly, but mind you the pundits reckon that Arsenal vs Charlton is the game of the season so far. Maybe we are going to concede a couple of goals in our great games, boys if you're reading this don't concede anything against Man U. The comments in the office were amusing, the Chelsea and Liverpool fans were moaning how lucky Arsenal were and they shouldn't be in the Champions League etc etc. I think a tough of jealousy! And the Ipswich fans were just laughing at the state of Chelsea!

Anyway I'll write more as a big week approaches, firstly Ipswich away on Saturday, who beat Leeds and drew with Man U followed by Lazio and Man U. At least we haven't got a lot of travelling and hopefully not many injuries. All in all this week has been pretty good, and even better when you think that Spurs drew with Brentford and Sullivan got sent off!
