Greetings to all in Gooner Cyberspace
Following the first meeting today we're pleased to annouce the birth of
the
Marble Halls' latest sybling, Arsenal Independent Supporters' Association,
or AISA for short.
A committee of 11 volunteers was elected. They'll meet on Thurs 11/10/00
at
7.30pm (venue to be advised but in the Islington area). All interested are
welcome to attend whether on committee or not. The next general meeting
will
be on:
Sat 11 November 2000
1.00-2.00pm
Hen & Chickens Theatre Bar, Highbury Corner
The priorities established by the meeting were:
- Campaiging and mobilising on the new ground to make sure it happens in
the teeth of opposition from local residents
- an AISA membership/organising drive
- Looking at setting up a mutual Arsenal Supporters' Trust to allow
Gooners
to buy into ownership of the Club.
Arsenal Director Ken Friar has agreed to address a future AISA meeting on
the new ground.
The meeting also heard that the formation of AISA had
received support from Alan "Smudger" Smith and Culture Media and Sport
Secretary Chris Smith MP.
If you want to join the merry band and haven't been in touch yet then just
drop us an e-mail with details of your home address and tel no (latter not
obligatory) and you're in!
