The purpose of this form is to enable you to let us know what features you'd like to see in ArseWeb's ArseText SMS service.

Please note that we cannot guarantee that the service will suit everyone perfectly. But we will try to tailor it according to the balance of opinion expressed via this form. If and when we come up with a policy regarding what sorts of news to send and how to prioritsse them, we'll let you know.

Please also make sure that you fill in the first 3 fields correctly. We will be checking to see if people are subscribers or not.

  • 6. Transfer Rumours

    Obviously a lot of stuff that comes our way is utter nonsense. On the website we often report it, just so we can confirm that it looks like nonsense (otherwise people read it elsewhere then write to us to see if we believe it). We'll need to be more restrained with the SMS service.
    So, when would you like us to send you transfer rumour info?

  • 7. Abbreviation.

    We will of course use a certain amount of abbreviation, because there is a limit to the size of text messages. We will use "AFC" for "Arsenal", for example. But how far do you want us to go?

    7a. Would you be happy for us to abbreviate Arsenal players names? (we would use initals and squad number, thus TA6 = Tony Adams, RP16 = Ray Parlour, RP7 = Robert Pires, etc)
    7b. Would you be happy for us to use other common SMS abbreviations?
    Please note that SMS messages are strictly restricted in length. So a certain amount of abbreviation is often going to be essential to get the message across. To some extent there is a trade-off between amount of abbreviation, and amount of information. The less we abbreviate, the less information there is room to give you.
