  • Arsenal team news
There are quite a few injury problems but after a worrying summer our squad is looking pretty good now. If we can recreate the style of the Charity Shield win on Sunday then Leicester should prove no obstacle, especially given the rumours about Heskey's possible departure.

    Absentees are likely to be:
Tony Adams - recovering from a hernia op
Overmars and Bergkamp both missed the pre-season friendlies due to groin injuries but should be back soon
David Seaman will be out for another week or two after staringing a calf at the end of the Monaco match.

The cover in all these departments looks pretty good though, and we're likely to see the same team that started the Charity Shield starting this one. New signing Davor Suker is not expected to play as he needs to gain some match fitness having only played a few matches last season. The Derby County site even reckon he's more likely to be off playing a friendly in Croatia when we play them on the 10th, and there also has been no confirmation yet of when we can expect his work permit to be sorted out.

  • Leicester team news
Both Tony Cottee and Steve Guppy returned from City's trip to Greece with ankle injuries. They are both doubtful for the Arsenal match but will be receiving intensive treatment to try to get them ready. City have no other injuries to report at the moment.
There has been speculation in the last week linking striker Emile Heskey with various clubs including Liverpool and Leeds (but Arsenal no longer, following the arrivals of Suker and Henry). As things stand however, he is still a Leicester player.
