Preview

  • This is NOT the live match on Sky TV. That's Wimbledon vs Liverpool.

  • Team news: Arsenal
See last match preview for list of players injured. Parlour and Dixon are not suspended, so they'll be available again, and we can only hope that some of the injuries that affected the midweek European game will either get better or turn out to have been "strategic" injuries in time for this match with the Premeirship leaders.

update 11/12/98 Bergkamp is back in full training and is even a possibility for the Villa match. Soccernet reports that Vieira could play too, as well as Keown and Overmars (fuelling suspicions that the injuries to Martin & Marc may have been, at least partly, "tactical").
Dixon and Parlour both return from suspension. Winterburn is still out so it'll be interesting to see if Grondin, who impressed in Greece, gets his first Premiership start. Petit and Adams are both still out.

  • See also NewsReel for breaking team news.

  • See new Arsenal vs Aston Villa page for head-to-head stats and Villa links

  • Villa team news
The Villa physio has said that Merson's chances of playing his old club on Sunday are "good". This could give John Gregory a problem in the attacking midfield places, with Joachim in a fine run of form and Alan Thompson starting to click as well.

  • See AFCi for their preview, when they're ready.

Obviously we have to be disappointed with giving away a 2 goal start, but at least we had a good half this time. Last season that was often enough, but we're paying for it these days.

See report on AFCi. More here soon(ish).
