Not a terribly inspiring match in freezing conditions. The bright spot was Bergkamp's form. In the 1st half a beautiful volleyed layoff set up the best chance of the game, but Platt blazed it wastefully over the bar from 12 yards. Bergkamp also scraped the outside of the post with a header from a Shaw cross, following just about the only decent move in the 2nd half. In defence the Gunners were really only threatened seriously a couple of times. Carbone turned past Bould and then Adams to set up Wednesday's best chance for himself, but blasted it wide. On another occasion Garde threw himself across to block what looked like a good chance.

Lukic 7.0
Parlour 7.0
Winterburn 5.5
Adams 7.5
Bould 7.0
Keown 7.0
Platt 5.0
Garde 6.5
Merson 7.0
Wright 6.0
Bergkamp 7.0
Shaw 6.5
