Silly Season 2002

ArseWeb's summer transfer rumours

Once again we're keeping a list of alleged transfer targets, and once again we must stress that the point is not to add any credibility to any of these stories but rather to show just how silly "silly season" can be.

Take a look at the 90-odd names we collected 3 years ago or the 117 from last summer to see what I mean.

The list is not very detailed. For full and frank coverage of all this nonsense, see the transfer news section of the newsreel (and links in the transfer news FAQ). All links below are to the relevant newsreel items (or relevant pieces on other sites).

Players who we have actually signed are indicated by yellow backgrounds.

The list was compiled by Jon Branaes. Please let him know of any unlisted transfer rumours that you hear of. Huge thanks to everyone who sends info for this page.
