Preview
- Arsenal team news
The big question mark is over the central defenders: will Adams be fit in time,
having apparently only just missed the Lyon game on Wednesday? Keown is not
expected to be be back in time. But after recent performances Wenger is likely to
stick with Luzhny and Stepanovs if there's any doubt. That'll leave
Grimandi free to partner Vieira.
It seems unlikely that Arsenal will choose this match to bring
Silvinho back. Although he played for the reserves
on Monday, he's said that he needs another game before starting for
the first team.
Lauren is unavailable as he's on international duty with Cameroun.
Silvinho ready to play according to Wenger, but may not oust
Ashley Cole (just given first full England call-up).
According to Arsene Wenger, French boss Roger Lemerre asked us not to
play our French internationals in the match, because of their friendly
against Germany on Tuesday night! Arsene said no. Seems that that's that
now (we hope). Fabien Barthez could have been affected too, but we'd have
felt the loss a whole lot more (Henry, Wiltord, Pires, & Vieira)
- Manchester_United team news
Andy Cole is suspended (first of 3). Utd will presumably start
with 2 of Sheringham, Yorke, and Solskjaer.
Ryan Giggs is out with a hamstring problem. With Quinton Fortune
and Jesper Blomqvist out injured, Chadwick might play on the left.
