  • Parking
Lucas writes with some advice for gooners making the drive up north. It might be a bit late but here it is anyway... "Just a bit of local info u might be able to put up. There have been a lot of cars broken into recently in the roads around St. James' during football matches. I would advise anyone coming up to this frozen land to wear a wooly coat and park a bit further away from the ground. The 'shopping' car parks near the ground seem unafected, but if I was coming up here I would either go up Westgate Road (the hill near the ground with loads of bike shops), and park on Grainger Park Road (opp hospital at traffic lights - 20 mins from ground), or go up to the Regent Centre(On Main Road through Gosforth and get the Metro in." Lucas adds, "If you do put this up tell Big Al to call me about my ticket!!!!!". Big Al, please take note.

  • Arsenal team news
Stepanovs Edu and Luzhny are all very doubtful for the game, partly because they've been out injured and face late fitness tests, but mainly because we need a point from this match. Anything less is likely to make the last match at Southampton at the weekend just a bit nervy. One point from the 2 games will guarantee Arsenal's place in the (first) league stage of the champions league next season.

Luzhny's absence means that Lee Dixon is virtually guaranteed to make his 600th first team appearance for the Gunners this evening. Only David O'Leary, Tony Adams, and George Armstrong are ahead of him. Lee would need another 20 games next season to catch Geordie for third. See this AFCi page. Lee was a doubt for the cup final though, and if needed there is always Lauren and Vivas to deputise if Luzhny isn't up to it.

  • Newcastle_United team news
See this page from the official Newcastle site for their squad for the match.

Their injury list includes Shearer, Dyer, and Lee. In full: Marcelino (thigh), Lee (knee), Dyer (shin), Shearer (knee), Griffin (groin), Glass (illness).

Also, Clarence Acuna is a doubt with the same problem as Shearer (tendinitis in his knee).

Nice quote from Bobby Robson about their visit to Highbury earlier in the season: "They beat us 5-0 and it was absolutely ruthless. They guillotined us, they scythed through us, they had too much pace, experience and quality for us that day."
